Presentations are organised each year within our school to provide an opportunity for students to present the steps and dances learned in a semi-formal situation. Students from age 5 and up in Classical Ballet and Jazz, Tap and Theatrical are involved (any level of experience is fine!). Note: If a class is doing the Cabaret (generally older groups) then they are not doing Presentations. The objective is to provide a positive and confidence building experience for the children involved. Students present their work in groups and with the help of their teacher to a Special Guest. The Special Guest will write encouraging comments for each student on a certificate which will be presented a few weeks later. Each student who participates will receive a medal on the day.
Examinations Royal Academy of Dance examinations in ballet are offered annually. These are external assessments which are suited to talented and dedicated students who want to commit both time and energy to their ballet. Students need to attend ballet more than once a week and participate in additional workshops so that they may be well prepared for their exam. Many students have benefitted from the challenges of this type of assessment and the rewards and sense of achievement are significant.
